Venue Description

History of Milford
Located at the Junction of Routes 101 & 101A

As the largest and one of the youngest towns in the Souhegan Valley, Milford serves as the region’s center of activity. The town was incorporated in 1794 and was probably named for its location near a shallow water crossing on the Souhegan River. Also known as Graniteville because of the presence of high-quality granite quarries. Milford was once part of the historic Massachusetts town of Monson.
